  • Arlington Theatre

    Catch up with the latest events at the historic Arlington Theatre, home to the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and UCSB Arts and Lectures. The Arlington is located next door to Alma del Pueblo in the heart of the historic performing and cultural arts district.

  • Granada Theatre

    Find out what’s happening at the historic Granada Theatre, home to the Santa Barbara Symphony, CAMA, Opera Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara Choral Society, State Street Ballet and UCSB Arts and Lectures. The Granada is located in the historic performing and cultural arts district.

  • 1st Thursdays, a recurring arts celebration in the heart of Santa Barbara

    1st Thursday is an evening of art and culture in downtown Santa Barbara. On the first Thursday of each month, participating galleries and art-related venues offer free access to visual and performing art in a fun and social environment.   • "Left Coast: Recent Acquisitions of Contemporary Art " at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art

    Since it opened its doors in 1941, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art has been dedicated to collecting – an activity that has contributed to the growth of the permanent collection in significant ways. “Left Coast” presents an overview of the Museum’s collecting habits from over the past five years, focusing on artists living and working in southern California. May 25 – September 14, 2014.

  • "La Cenerentola" from the New York Metropolitan Opera

    The Arlington Theater presents a live feed of the New York Metropolitan Opera’s production of “La Cenerentola,” Rossini’s variation on the traditional Cinderella story. May 10, 2014 9:55 am.


  • Spanish-themed "California Wine Festival"

    The 11th Annual California Wine Festival is your opportunity to get into the spirit of Fiesta! The first evening is Spanish-themed, including music, passionate flamenco dancing, and spicy tapas. Then head to palm-lined Chase Palm Park to indulge in a quintessential Californian wine tasting where you can enjoy Sip hundreds of vintage California wines, sample dozens of hot and cold gourmet appetizers, artisan breads and cheeses, fresh cut fruits, and for a change of taste, sample local and regional craft brews too.   • Summer Kick-Off @ the Public Market

    To kick off summer and celebrate all things local, the Santa Barbara Public Market will host Summer Kick-Off on Saturday June 13th from 10:00am – 6:00pm! The Summer Kick-Off will feature a seasonal cooking demo in The Kitchen with Flagstone Pantry, a Summer Tasting Passport experience featuring seasonal food samplings from all market merchants, a Local Expo in The Kitchen featuring demos and samplings from local vendors and floral designers, as well as a free pop-up yoga class!
    Saturday, June 13th, 10am – 6pm

    • 10:00am – 11:00 am – Pop-Up Yoga Class with Core Power Yoga
    • 11am –  Summer Salads Cooking Demo with Flagstone Pantry; demo is $15 and includes complimentary food samples.
    • 2:00pm – 4:00pm – Summer Tasting Passport; sample healthy food tastings from participating merchants! Get stamps and turn in your completed passport for a chance to win prizes.
    • 2:00pm – 4:00pm – Local Expo in The Kitchen with Kate Farms, Organic Body Essentials, Flow Water, Santa Barbara Beekeepers and Fairview Gardens

  • Music Academy of the West's 2015 Summer Festival

    Living in the heart of Santa Barbara’s cultural & performing arts district, Alma Del Pueblo residents have access to many of the greatest entertainment in our community!  Every June, we look forward to the kick-off of the Music Academy of the West’s Summer Festival. This year, the 2015 Summer Festival will take place from June 15 to August 8. The Music Academy of the West is among the nation’s preeminent summer schools and festivals for gifted young classical musicians.

    The Music Academy of the West will present the world-renowned New York Philharmonic in its first-ever performance at the historic Santa Barbara Bowl as well as a new production of Gioachino Rossini’s comic opera Cinderella as part of the Academy’s 68th annual Summer Festival. The Music Academy will present some 200 events, including more than 80 that are free, over the course of its coming season.
    Founded in 1947 by a group of visionary Southern California arts patrons and musicians, The Music Academy of the West strives to make a unique and enduring contribution to the world of classical music. As one of the nation’s leading music institution, The Music Academy is dedicated to advancing the development of the next generation of great classical musicians and cultivating discerning, appreciative, and adventurous audiences.   • “Suds & Swine” Beer Dinner with Valley Piggery & Ninkasi Brewery

    In honor of our Dads and all the special men in our lives, Wine + Beer and The Kitchen will host a “Suds & Swine” Beer Dinner featuring longtime Chef and founder of Valley Piggery, Jacob Francis and Ninkasi Brewery, on Friday, June 19. Francis brings his farm to table passion to the Public Market with a carefully crafted menu, featuring mouth watering pork dishes, perfectly paired with a lineup of Ninkasi Brewery’s ales from Oregon! Tickets are $60. Advance reservations required, call (805) 770-7702 to reserve.

  • Summer Solstice Parade

    The Summer Solstice Parade and Festival is the largest arts event in Santa Barbara County, drawing crowds of over 100,000 spectators from around the world. What started out as a birthday celebration for a local artist, Santa Barbara’s Summer Solstice has evolved into a creative and original display of floats, giant puppets, whimsical costumes and masks of more than 1,000 parade participants, of all ethnic and economic backgrounds, with dancing, music, drumming and drama that enthralls all spectators. Alameda Park is where everyone can enjoy a wonderful eclectic collection of live world music including famous local groups, food, arts and crafts. As a nonprofit, community organization, the Summer Solstice Celebration group is responsible for carrying on this multicultural performing arts celebration, and ensuring an extravagant celebration of life through art for many years to come.
