Pippa’s Santa Barbara

Today, we’re pleased to introduce Pippa Davis from the Alma del Pueblo sales team. After leaving her native South Africa, Pippa and her husband arrived in Santa Barbara and knew immediately that it would be their new home. In addition to raising her family here, Pippa has dedicated herself to introducing people to the homes of their dreams.

Your colleagues have discussed the Public Market, Alma del Pueblo’s perfect WalkScore, the unique amenities. What do you think makes Alma del Pueblo homes so special?

Single-level living is definitely a trend, and all the Alma del Pueblo homes are designed for maximum space and efficiency on one level. Imagine – no stairs required! Not only for boomers, but for anyone who enjoys the breadth of a large home without the running up and down all day.

And there’s the gorgeous light, with these large windows and dramatically high ceilings. Our project leader, Marge Cafarelli hasn’t left one detail untouched. She and her design team have thought this through on a granular level. Each appliance, even, is hand-picked – for design, but also with the finest operating capability in mind.

What’s one of your personal favorite highlights of the project?

It’s first-generation living, keeping it simple. Homeowners will live where they can get anything they desire, just steps from their front door. Certainly being above the Santa Barbara Public Market is living above your own personal pantry. People are going to love living here.

What do you like about selling homes to people?

My job is so social. It’s about that connection I have with a person; learning what they’re looking for and helping them find it. Helping them find a space that makes them happy – that’s pretty special.

What are the top 3 things that no visitor to Santa Barbara should miss?

1. The architecture – examine all the nooks and crannies of the amazing buildings we have here.
2. Sit outside at the El Encanto and watch the sunset.
3. Go for a hike up into the hills, get to the top and look down at Santa Barbara’s amazing coastline.
4. (I can’t stop there!) Appreciate the fact that you’re an hour and a half from one of the largest cities in the world and, yet, it feels like we’re worlds away.
5. Enjoy the quiet. It’s so peaceful and serene.
